    近日爱尔兰摇滚乐队U2喜事不断，最新大碟《All That You Can't Leave Behind》在32个国家音乐榜上位列第一，日前英国音乐大奖Brit Awards公布，U2将成为下届杰出贡献奖（Outstanding Contribution to Music）的得奖者，恭喜恭喜！

    该奖项原名为英国杰出贡献奖（Contribution to British Music），顾名思义只颁发给英国音乐人，为了让各地音乐人也有机会夺得此奖，今年举办单位特别将其改名为「Outstanding Contribution to Music」，省掉国籍的限制，而U2不负众望，击败一众音乐人捧走大奖。

    历届获得该奖的音乐人有：大卫宝儿（David Bowie）、Rod Stewart、Bee Gees等。英国音乐大奖主席Tony Wadsworth特别赞扬了U2：「U2是一队了不起的乐队，二十年来他们带给Fans无数动听的音乐。」

    目前，U2正在精心准备他们的演唱，他们表示届时一定要给Fans惊喜。颁奖典礼将於2001年2月26日在Earls Court举行，典礼盛况第二天晚上在英独立电视台（ITV）播出。

    Bono明年再做老豆另外，U2的主音Bono亦传出另一喜讯，其老婆Ali Hewson四度怀孕了，孩子将在明年中出生，Bono又再尝做老豆的滋味！现年39岁的Bono果真是「造人高手」。目前这对恩爱的夫妻已经有三个孩子，分别是11岁与9岁的女儿Jordan和Memphis Eve，以及才刚满15个月的小儿子Elijah，对於这个即将到来的第四个孩子，Bono两公婆都兴奋不已！大家都知道喜爱小孩子的Ali一直希望拥有一个大家庭，之前俄国发生车诺比核能电厂外泄的意外时，她还曾为了那些遭受苦难的儿童到处奔走募款，协助他们寻找收养人。有喜也有忧，接下来的日子Bono因U2刚发行了新专辑《All That You Can't Leave Behind》，按原定计划必须进行全球宣传活动；明年3月份U2又将从墨西哥开始世界巡回表演，到六月份Bono能否陪老婆待产还是未知之数。

                       U2主唱受死亡威胁 
 
  爱尔兰顶级乐队U2主唱波诺两年来共收到24封死亡恐吓信，有人在信中用粗言秽语威胁他，目前警方已正式介入，并将使用指纹及DNA技术调查主谋。
　　波诺近年来参与国际慈善工作不遗余力，但却惹来同胞的不满，其在爱尔兰都柏林的总部办公室，在这两年共收到24封由伦敦寄来的恐吓信，威胁会对他不利。在这些信中，这个恐吓者大骂波诺近年所做的国际慈善工作，并表示不满波诺如此关心外国人，而没有为英国人谋取福利，信中夹杂着无数恐吓词、粗言秽语和歧视外国人的字句，更写道：“我警告你，你和你的朋友已受到我们的监视，要帮自己人，如果你继续帮别的国家，就等着见棺材吧。”24封恐吓信的内容虽然不尽相同，但最近几封明显带有杀意，由于担心疑犯会做出危险行动，波诺才决定报警求助。

　　苏格兰警方对此事非常重视，已经命英国皇家邮政局协助调查信件来源，专家将检查疑犯留下的指纹，并用DNA技术找出主谋，警方表示不排除会即时起诉疑犯并将其判刑，警方目前已向波诺录取口供。对此，波诺的朋友说：“他一心推动世界和平，绝对不会因为这些而低头。”波诺近年为贫穷国家的债务问题、饥荒与艾滋病蔓延等问题做过多次探访和游说，并获得下届诺贝尔和平奖的提名。
